Split Account
What is the Split Account?
The Split Account is an easy way for you and your partner to start sharing expenses. With the Split Account, you and your partner have individual accounts and balances, but you’re able to automatically split any transactions that you make using your Ivella Debit Card!
Is the Split Account right for my relationship?
Whether you've been dating for six months or recently got engaged, we think you'll find value in trying Ivella. We’ve had couples sign up for Ivella as early as one month into their relationship.
How does the Split Account work?
When you connect with your partner, you’ll set your Split Ratio, which is the default way you want to split transactions (e.g. 50/50 or 70/30). Purchases made with your Ivella card will be automatically split based on this figure.
Can I change my Split Ratio?
Yes, you and your partner can adjust your Split Ratio at any time, and this will be reflected once both parties agree to the change.
Can I change the ratio of a specific transaction?

Do I have to pay for the Split Account?
No, the Split Account is entirely free to use! There are no initiation costs, account minimums, or overdraft fees.
How many cards will we receive?
You and your partner will both receive one (1) physical card and one (1) virtual card, so in total you’ll be given four (4) Ivella Visa debit cards. Your virtual cards will be available to use instantly, and your physical card should arrive in 5-7 business days.
Can we transfer money to each other?
Yes, you can send, receive, and request money from your partner in a few taps, for free.
Can I send money to other people?

Can I access ATMs with my Split Account?
Yes, you have fee-free access to over 55,000 Allpoint ATMs across the world.
Will this affect my credit?
No, the Ivella Split Account functions like a checking account and has no impact on you or your partner’s credit.
Will my partner have access to my personal information?
When connecting to your partner you agree to share certain information with them regarding only your Ivella account, which includes account information, account balance(s), transaction information, and transfer information. Your partner will not have visibility into your external bank information.
What happens if my partner and I break up?
If you and your partner break up, you can disconnect from one another by clicking their profile card on the dashboard. Alternatively, you can email our support team at support@ivella.com, and we’ll help you through the process. Upon disconnecting with your partner, you will retain each of your individual Ivella balances, which now function like completely independent accounts.
